Moving Preparations
Tomorrow I move.
I’m not ready.
There’s a stack of boxes in the corner of my office, and a bunch of half-packed ones littering the floor. Empty bookshelves line the hall, and I’ve been madly going through the archives of my childhood.
I found two of my old juggling rings (in two different rooms), some old Odyssey albums, books I thought were lost (they were), and an only slightly-working Macintosh Portable.
Jennifer’s flying in tonight, we’re going to have her birthday tomorrow morning, and then drive, drive, drive all day ‘till we get to Easley, SC.
That is, if I can get a moving van this afternoon. I reserved a U-Haul truck online. When I stopped by there yesterday to pick up some bubble-wrap and boxes, they told me they had no record of my reservation. I called the main office later, but they told me to call the local office this morning. The fellow I talked to still hasn’t returned my call.
Meanwhile, I’m going to keep packing, and work a bit.
