Christianity & [Secular] Media

Tonight my friend Jon hosted a “Beer & God Night” in his basement. It’s appropriately furnished with old couches and a big console TV. Oh, and there was beer (and Coke for non-drinkers). Sometime during the evening, the conversation turned to movies. In my experiences with modern Christianity, there are two main schools of thought […]

Shortpacked! — A webcomic about toys by David Willis

When two time-travelers try to learn about the same bible story, things can get interesting. I’ve not seen hardly anything on the web to acknowledge that SuperBook! even existed before this.

NarniaWeb - New Trailer To Be Released with Legend of Zorro

The first Narnia trailer (not teaser) will be released tomorrow on moviefone.

Apple - Trailers - Curious George

We didn’t read many Curious George books when I was little. Except for the original story, the books ended depicting Curious George being rewarded for disobeying the Man in the Yellow Hat, since his subsequent misdeeds always ended up turning out for the best. But they’re finally making a Curious George movie, and it doesn’t […]

Napoleon Dynamite

I finally saw Napoleon Dynamite the other night. Well on it’s way to becoming one of the most successful indie films ever, it’s a movie about this frizzy-haired dude named Napoleon and his sadly dysfunctional family. At first glimpse, this movie looks like an insensitive comedy about people whom society would brand Losers. People who […]

Review: Lemony Snicket's A Series Of Unfortunate Events

This afternoon I had the opportunity to see Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events. On a lark, Tim and Steve and I went to an obscure second-run (third-run?) theater that we eventually located by asking at a hair salon and a gas station (who says men don’t stop for directions?). We were pleasantly surprised […]

TV-B-Gone

After reading about this new keychain-based gizmo, I ordered one on the spot: It does nothing but turn TVs off. Seriously, that’s all it does, is just universally, completely, truly attempts to shut down just about every TV around (and it’s rarely unsuccessful). Besides, it might help prevent more of The Machines from achieving self-awareness […]

Septilogy?

From the LoTR-obsessed creators of TheOneRing.net comes TheOneLion.net, about the movie for those of us obsessed with C.S. Lewis’ enchanted forest creations. If all goes according to plan, it will be the first in what should rightly be called a septilogy, but isn’t. I can’t wait.

Stargate: Atlantis

Stargate Atlantis just gets better with every episode. And it looks like I’m not the only one who thinks so. Great writing, great acting, and so much more potential than Stargate: SG-1. A Stargate team gets stranded in the ancient, abandoned city of Atlantis — which turns out to be located somewhere in the Pegasus […]

Sick

I feel like I’m sitting around waiting for a disaster to strike. I can feel myself getting sick, but it hasn’t severely hampered me yet. Good thing we didn’t go up to PA last night. I’m really bored with cable TV, too. Might have to break out LotR or PotC.
