I’m looking closer now at Eric Meyer’s work on Netscape’s DevEdge re-design (which, incidentally, crashes Safari v60), as well as the recently re-worked Wired News. They aren’t using any HTML tables whatsoever, and it’s reduced page size by at least 25%; in Wired’s case, they went from 32K down to 19K per page. Now, in […]
This afternoon at 2pm, I’m going to go to school for the very first time. I’m taking a continuing education class at the <a href=”http://www.ccbcmd.edu/” target=_blank”>Community College of Baltimore County: Introduction to Voiceover. I don’t know if my voice has the level of quality needed for high-profile stuff, but friends have told me I should […]
The FBI issued a warning, in a Lancaster County, Pennsylvania newspaper, that they suspect a terrorist may be hiding in the Amish community here. This photo provided the first clue that triggered the investigation:
Wow. Broadband over normal electrical lines sounds like a good idea to me. I wonder how the price will compare to dialup, and here’s a thought if it will become just another function of our power companies? It may be hard to regulate, if you can just plug a router into an electrical […]
On the radio the other day, I heard someone quoting R.G. LeTourneau, the great industrialist. Someone once asked him something about finding the will of God for their life. R.G. replied, “Forget about searching for the will of God for the rest of your life! You should be concerned with what God’s will is for […]
Oh yes, and Patrick got my car unlocked with a coat hanger. But Sam didn’t get it on tape, so we had to lock the car and start over. Several passers-by tried to help, and were alternately disgusted and hysterical when they found out I had the keys in my pocket this time. Video of […]
I came home from PA this afternoon more or less specifically to go to the previously mentioned demographically correct Bible study. The only hurdle was finding out where and what time it was. I had heard that Danny and Sarah-and-Melissa were regulars, but do you think I could get ahold of them? Danny’s phone situation […]
On the way up to PA, it seems that I returned two DVDs to the wrong video store … Blockbuster instead of Movie Time. Now Mom is running around trying to straighten things out. Oops. Hey, at least I took them back … sometimes I don’t even get that far. Also, I just noticed my […]
Another brief brush with the beard has ended in the decision and realization that I don’t have to change my appearance to feel good about myself. So take that, Hollywood.
I am lying on the loveseat listening to Sarah practice her piano lesson and sing, “C D E D C C C”, and play with the guitar and choir sounds. She’s doing remarkably for seven years old. At least I think so.
